ICMEP Annual Gala 2022
Join us on October 29 for our Annual Gala and fundraiser.
The Gala is always a high point of our program year - festive, lots of good people and good conversation, great items up for auction, plenty of delicious heavy appetizers, and always a fantastic special guest. This year will continue that tradition, when we gather at the Orchard Ridge Country Club starting at 5:30pm.
Our special guest and keynote speaker this year will be Rev. Edwin Arrison. He plans to speak on, "My Life with 'Arch' (Desmond Tutu), Kairos South Africa, and Kairos Palestine."
As you may remember, South African anti-apartheid activist, Archbishop Desmond Tutu, died last December 26. He was an ardent critic of Israeli apartheid and a staunch defender of Palestinian political, civil, and human rights.
Capetown Anglican priest, Edwin Arrison, ordained by Archbishop Tutu, is Development Officer of the Desmond & Leah Tutu Legacy Foundation. Edwin was one of the leaders of South Africa’s anti-apartheid movement, imprisoned twice for his activism; he was also instrumental in writing Kairos South Africa’s 30th Anniversary statement Dangerous Memory & Hope for the Future. And he is very close to the Taize community in France.
Edwin has worked closely with Kairos Palestine, serving as a consultant for the seminal 2009 “Kairos Palestine document.” He has also served as Chairperson of South Africa’s National Coalition for Palestine.
Edwin is the leader of Kairos South Africa and a Member of Global Kairos for Justice Coalition supporting the Palestinian struggle for justice and human rights.
The opportunity to hear directly from Rev. Arrison is reason enough to attend the Gala - the rest of the event will be a delightful bonus!
This year we are offering Individual Registrations (1 person) at $85 each. There are 3 levels of Benefactor Registrations: $300 (for up to 2 people), $600 (up to 4 people), and $1000 (up to 8 people).
