BDS Movement

Dear friends and supporters of Indiana Center for Middle East Peace,

I'm writing from beautiful downtown Atlanta where I'm attending a two-day conference at the Carter Center bringing together 100 leaders from Christian churches in Palestine and leading Christian peace/justice organizations in the US (I'm representing Pilgrims of Ibillin).

I'm writing to invite you to hear attorney Barbara Harvey, National Lawyers Guild and Jewish Voice for Peace-Detroit, talk about the Boycott, Divestment, and Sanctions (BDS) movement and the various anti-BDS resolutions in the US Congress and various statehouses (including Indiana and Ohio) around the country. Barbara will be speaking on Tuesday, April 26, at Plymouth Church, 501 West Berry Street, 6:30pm (260.423.9424).

Also, you'll be able to view the very moving and informative Nakba Exhibit of Memory and Hope depicting the cruel displacement of Palestinians by the Israeli military from their homes and villages at the creation of the State of Israel in 1948 up to the present day in their ongoing Nakba (catastrophe). The exhibit will be open at 5:30pm before Barbara's presentation.

Also, friends, you may remember that Omar Barghouti from Ramallah was supposed to speak on April 26. Due to travel restrictions and threats on Omar's life by ministers from the present Israeli government, Omar is not able to join us.

Finally, SAVE THE DATE - ArabFest 2016, Headwaters Park, June 4-5. Music, debka dance, Arab food and sweets, family-friendly, child-friendly, free admission.

Michael
