Arab Fest – Volunteers Needed
Dear friends of Indiana Center for Middle East Peace,
We are so excited as we prepare for our second annual ArabFest - BIGGER AND BETTER THIS YEAR - in just three short weeks from this weekend, Saturday, June 4 (12-10pm), and Sunday, June 5 (12-7pm), Headwaters Park (Rothschild Pavilion), downtown Fort Wayne.
PLEASE INVITE YOUR FRIENDS.
ARABFEST IS FAMILY-FRIENDLY, AND THERE IS FREE ADMISSION.
The Fest will feature Debka dance, Arab music, a souq (market), henna, children's booth, displays, and of course, plenty of Arab food, sweets, and treats. Camel rides on Saturday only.
Friends, this is a tremendous undertaking. Last year we estimated we had 2400 attendees over the weekend (from four states) and so WE COUNT ON VOLUNTEERS to help us with a number of tasks:
Friday, June 3, 12-4pm
- Set-up - tents, tables and chairs, booths, flags, displays, etc.
Saturday, June 4 (12-10pm) - Sunday, June 5 (12-7pm) --- 2-3 hour shifts on either/both days
- Food table (prepare food plates), selling coffee/tea, selling water/soft drinks, selling baklava
- Welcome booths (as people enter)
- Selling tickets (people buy tickets - we're accepting tickets only for food, services, etc.)
Sunday, June 5 (7-9pm)
- Tear down and clean-up
Please let me know as soon as you are able if you are able to lend a hand for one or both days over the weekend, and/or if you're able to help us set up or tear down/clean up on Friday afternoon or Sunday night.
Thank you, friends. We look forward to seeing you sometime during the weekend of June 4-5. Make sure you come by and say "hi" to me so we can catch up with each other.
Michael
